Riverwalk back on drier terrain again. Murphy-The waters of the Valley River have finally receded to a point where walkers can once again enjoy the full length of the riverwalk at Konehete Park,Thanks to the effort ofa small group of enthusiasts. Members of the Hertage Partners,along with Cherokee County Recreation Department Director Pee Wee Davis and his crew and some volunteers,worh last week to clear debris from an area that had been flooded for more that a month. "It look good now," Davis said."We put more gravel down,did some weedeating and move some logs that had washed up on to the path with the river and now it looks real good again. It's ready to use," Davis said the section of the path in the woods did not sustain any long term damage and shouldn't see any more problems.www.townofmurphync.com/ This week,attention will turn back to the section of the Riverwalk near the L&N Depot.Davis said there is a standing work detail each Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. to noon,and volunteers are welcome and needed."There's  still a lot of work to be done on the new part and we could use all the help we can get,"he said.
