The weekend-long Chautauqua Ave! event will feature cultural events including music,lectures and other family activities Friday through Sunday,March 19-21,in Andrews.The purpose of Chautauqua is to share cultural activities with residents of western North Carolina and other areas.

The Woman's Enrichment Centers of Andrews and Blairsville,Ga. will have its annual Walk for Life beginning at 9:00 a.m. in Blairsville,at 11:00 a.m. in Murphy and at 1:00 p.m. in Andrews.Proceeds go to benefit the nonprofit center.Call 828-321-3848for more details and locations.


Empty Bowls will be held from 5-7 p.m. Saturday,March 20th,at John C. campbell Folk School in Brasstown.Tickets are $ 25.00, which includes a handmade bowl by a local potter,soup,bread,salad and dessert.
